Electric Windows Problem, not the usual wont go up problem.

Post by zahir_213 »

Hi guys, having problems with the electric windows.
First of all the driver side went, just will not wind down at all, not even with the comfort feature with the key. When you press the button you can hear a click and the buttons have been replaced recently so they should be fine. I gave it about a week and now the otherside is doing exactly the same thing!

Ive seen that loads of you are having problems with the windows not going up easily, but this is the opposite way round, anyone got any ideas??

Cheers

Right Ive managed to fix it guys.
I read up on post where someone was having a similar problem.
I think the motors tend to get ceased very easily, either that or they are just crap.
Anyway heres what u gotta do:

1.
First of all I slammed each door about 10 times while pressing the down window down button on the door.

2.
Remove the fuses for the electric windows, in the fuse box next to steering wheel, under light controls. On mine it was 38 and 39, might be different on yours.

3.
Replace the fuses after a few seconds and being step one again.

And hey presto my windows came back from the dead!!!!

So If your windows will not go down try all the above, if it a problem going up, then I think its somethin to do with a plastic slip, searching the MKV forum will get u the answers.

I Think its the 2 yellow ones together on the bottom row, it should say number 38 and 39 underneath them.
Was there no white card telling you whats what?
Either way jus try it, it can't do no harm.
You might aswell check that the fuses are not blown while u take them out and put them back in.
