summer project...convertible polo??

hi guys

im looking for another project.

what would you all say to a convertible mk4?? i dont mean open air, i mean drop top/no roof!

its possible and im just drawing up some ideas..
i no the whole car will need to be supported....

i think this would be the dogs nackers!

i say it would look sweet. BUT

the roof holds alot of the structual integrity of the car so for you to pull it off safley it will take alot of work and bracing to make it safe. not worth the hassel imo

just to prove my point. the front and 3 rear windows are what keeps the chassis from flexing in corners. or summat along those lines hence there bonded in.

was talking to a guy who used to do up old landys now working for landy and he said any car with bonded windows dont even thing about drop topping it.. cant remember the whole reasons but it made perfect sence.

Yeah like you said without the roof it'll need alot of braceing and support because itll be like a shoebox without the lid (no structural strenght at all) but i agree it would look awesum. I reckon stick some flared arches aswel as some chunky wheels and tires. Keep us informed

(similar to convertible golfs and theyre alright)

aint got too much time.... just bored and wondering.....

i rekcon its more hassle than its worth, but hey!

if i can get my mates unit for a while and a very very cheap mk4, i will consider it.

proberly would look crap but its an achievment hey!

can anyone try and photoshop one? lol
