Changing brake callipers

Post by Poloracer »

Im putting 15" wheels on my 9n3, but want different brake callipers on. Was going to put tt ones on but, found out the smallest wheel they will go in to is a 16". Has anyone got any ideas what to put on???? The other main reason for the change of calliper is there is going to be a s3 lump going in over the next year or so and the brakes have to be able to stop the car.

Would changing the hubs, give you a few more options?

I'm not 100% sure and will need to check on this, but you might be able to put Golf 3 VR6 calipers on, but then you're looking at changing the discs to 200mm from the 156mm ones on your car currently. You won't need to change the hubs, but you will need to change the carriers. This way you can still keep the 15" wheels, but if you're going to dropping in a S3 lump, then I'd think about the TT brake setup as well as uprating everything else to do with braking and suspension.
