Polo Sport - Driver Information Display..?

Post by Buzby »

Finally getting round to changing my mk4 golf. Tomorrow im going to look at a 03 reg, 1.9tdi Sport polo. The car in question has a "driver information display" is this the same thing as the red led display on my golf or is it referring to the lcd displays at the bottom of the rev counter and speedo on the polo dash..

Sorry for such a daft question..

Welcome to the forum!

I have a 52 plate tdi 100 and I have the lcd display, however im fairly sure that at some point they changed to the red led display.

What kinda spec did you get? what kinda deal?

If i remember correctly you only get the red LED display if the car has Sat Nav from the factory.

Otherwise the display will be the one where the clock is on the rev counter :)

Well...

I now own a 03 polo 1.9tdi 8)..
Seems a good one, no leaks damage etc. the steering wheels ok, must have been the road  Took it on a 10 mile test drive to be sure.. First tdi ive owned, goes like stink, pulls strongly through the rev range. The only thing that concerned me was the fact it's had 5 owners, but the first was vw head office for a few months the 2nd was a local owner for about a year and the last 3 were the same local family the last one was only for 10 weeks :? ?????

Paid £8800 at a franchised dealer Inc, 12months tax, and a mot (not needed till april) + my golf in part ex.
The spec's pretty good..

24000 miles, Reflex Silver , Red Scala Sports Seats, Sunroof, Climate, auto dipping interior mirror 16" split rim alloys, cruise control, painted mirrors/bump strips, and side airbags(dunno if these are standard).

Picking it up next saturday hopefully.. :)

sounds like a really good deal. I've got the auto dip mirror which will mean you'll have rain sensitive wipers (which I love!) :?

I like the rear wiper swiping when you engage reverse with the wipers on auto.. 8) . I was told the car was about £16k new. .. Its got ESP on it as well, which is nice.

£8800 plus your golf in part ex   I don't mean to sound funny but it doesnt seem like a good deal to me, I paid £7000 for mine it's virtually the same spec as yours had 12 months tax and mot but a year older and only had 18,000 miles on it when I bought it though I did buy it privately but got it AA inspected and no problems so far touch wood! Hope you got a good warranty out of them and a full tank of diesel :!:

damci - sorry  that was £8800 minus my golfs value. Its from a vw dealer so as usual you pay a bit more, swings n roundabouts i suppose.

goosey - I saw the esp light flash on the test drive  a couple of times.
