Eek! Admittedly i'm no expert mate, but if it was me, i'd call the trusty RAC / AA to get in car for you. Seen them get into a friend's car in literally seconds with a funky light-stick-hook-jobby. Might even work out cheaper to join if you haven't already, but make sure you get the option that covers you at home too!

i have the same problem, and fortunatly my battery has never died on me.
do you have a solanoid on your boot?
what i suggest you do is run 2 wires from your solanoid to a descreet place on the outside of your car(obviously very well hidden!!!).....this way you can power it externally if anything ever fails.....
in the mean time, your best bet would be to contact the aa/rac.
unless your good with coat hangers down the side of your window.....
