Okay, there's a few ways to do it.
1) (the cheats way - and it'll sound like it) Make a false floor out of either 12 or 18mm mdf.. Sound proof the wheel well EXTREMELY well. Bond the false floor to the real floor using lots (and I mean lots) of sealant. Screw sub in. Job done.
2) (The proper way) Make false floor out of either 12 or 18mm MDF. Cut the hole for the sub above the wheel well. Cut a piece the size of the base of the wheel well from 12mm mdf. Using fibreglass sheets and resin mould the false floor to the disc obviously stepping down the depth of the wheel well. I recommend covering the real floor in bin liners so as not to trash car. You need to build the fibreglass up in layers to a decent thickness of 5-10mm. Sound proof wheel well. Fit sub.
3) (the other proper way) Make false floor out of either 12 or 18mm MDF. Cut the hole for the sub above the wheel well. Cut a piece the size of the base of the wheel well from 12mm mdf. If i remember correctly the wheel well of a 6n2 (mines no where near me at present so can't check) is square. Build sides to the wheel well out of 12mm joining the bottom part to the false floor. Sound proof wheel well. Seal all seams with silicone. Fit sub.
The idea (of 2+3) is to try and create a box that fits inside the well. This will give you a far superior sound. The well of a polo is rather large so volume isn't too much of an issue and you should get 1-1.3cuft out of it. I'd suggest a good 10" sub that runs well in a sealed encloser.
You should really measure the space you have to work out what volume box you are gonna create. Don't forget the volume of the box will be the internal of it and it will have sides and a base (either 12mm or 18mm thick)
I'd recommend (2) for ease of constuction and sound quality.
Sorry if this makes no sense i've had a long day and am half asleep. Anyone wanna correct me feel free to do so.

As above really. If you can afford an auto acoustics stealth box there the bee's knees. But there around £130. That way you only lose about 8inchs off the width of your boot. If your well skilled with fibreglass you could make one yourself. I've done it before and its not too easy!
