HEAD UNIT HELP!!

HI GUYS IM NEW TO THE FORUM ,JUST GOT MY POLO 6N AND AM HAVING TROUBLE FITTING NEW SONY HU. THE WIRES HAD BEEN BUTCHED BY PREVIOUS OWNER BUT SORTED NOW ALL I NEED IS TO SORT THE RECEPTION ON THE RADIO ITS NO EXISTANT , UNLESS I TOUCH OR HOLD THE UNIT ,IS IT AN EARTH PROB?

Is your aerial lead plugged in properly? Sounds silly but...

You need to fit an inline FM booster, audioleads make them, this will sort your reception out

Normally this booster is inside the VW headunit, but you've removed it

Managed to get some results ended up using just the centre core of the coax!!
I had a look around the antena base and there was a small leak so maybe its not earthing???
Strange but will do me for now
