I miss having a noisy car; so considering making my 16v noisy.
My worry is basically this:
I do a tonne of motorway miles (I mean, everyday to work, 370 mile trips to my girlfriend at uni, and the 370 miles back). Lots of motorway miles. And I dont want to be defened by my car and unable to listen to music while doing these miles.
And as we know: a 16v on the motorway is doing a fair bit of revs - more than the 8v was doing at 70 on the motorway.
So - basically I'm asking this.
If you got a 16v and have an exhaust, air filter (either or both) - how noisy is your car at between 60 and 100 in top gear ?
its black my polo (though the question seems random to me lol)
how loud are we talking hear?
i have the standard speakers in my car but a new head unit thats more powerful - am i still gonna be able to listen to the radio or will it pretty much kill radio voice chatter?
i have a cat back system and k&n on mine and came off m62 last night after a good hour of driving and went in to pub just off junction and my ears were ringing,,,its stupidly loud but a nice sound nevertheless.new filter soon should sound and pull a little better.
Got a powerflow full system on mine and to be honest you adjust to the noise your car makes. I do the occasional long run down M1/M25 and as long as you got some good tunes it's not a major problem. Saying that my first car was a mini with a wack-off huge center exit system, that was noisy! In my opinion go for it because you can't beat that feeling when you toe the gas, lift the clutch and scare the living s**t out of lurking pedestrians
