you'll find the very very early ones had a sunroof and air con in lieu of climate control, but other than that it was a £500 pound option, mine has a sunroof and its a 51 plate
does your car have climit control aswell as sunroof Also do you know if all gti came with rain sensitive wipers & auto dimming rear view mirrior mine is a 51 plate, was it just these later models
I have an Electric Sunroof, and Climate Control (mine was register in January 2001 - X Plate). Rain Sensitive Wipers were an extra, but I'm not sure about the auto dimming mirror.
sounds like they was a lot of options & packs. Has anyone seen an original sales leafet with all the extras, would like to know what was offered & see what i have on my gti.
wasnt that many options, we've covered two - sunroof, auto dimming and auto wipers, silver and black paint was extra, leather, (which also meant you had heated seats) and sat nav - feel free to add to that people

The problem was that VW couldn't make their mind up as to what they were gonna fit as standard equipment especially when the GTi first came out.
It was the same with the interior door cards and seat belts colour.
Did a google search & found the original sales brochure for the polo. If you type this in (new at this game don't know how to do a link yet), you will find it on Tyresmoke.net: Polo Brochure 01 Model (6n2). Found out my GTI has Rain sensor wipers, auto dimmer rear view mirrior, heated washer jets ( don't know if thats standard on all GTIs). Very happy
figured i had auto wipers when driving home after buying the car. started raining wipers went off. I read page 5 of the brouchure (picture of rear view mirrior same as mine, with the pipe connecting to the mirrior for electrics).
