s2000 aerial fitting

Post by DanDiesel »

me and doug ordered 3xs2000 aerials from the same bloke as polosilver and Modified Madness and they turned up this morning!! (not MM and ps, the aerials!!)
just like all the rest, in a long thin jiffy bag, with a 35p stamp on!! they certainly don't look brand new lol! probably been nicked! oh well, once i get mine fitted it will look good!

and this is where my problem starts........
i unscrew my standard aerial and it gets so far and just keeps on turning and doesn't actually come off!! it does bend backwards tho, probably to go thru car washes safely!!

any ideas how i will get this off?? is this wot they call anti-theft??

mine did the same - think the collar it scres into comes loose, so the whole thing just spins. Just pull up on it slightly and turn it, and it should come out with a bit of luck

Can u imagine the faces of those 2000 drivers.
"hay that blo*dy Polo's got an arial just like my old one!"
(points to next polo that drives by)
"That one too....!"
(soon to be every other polo by the sounds of it!)
Watch out on Crimewatch!
Is there enough 2000's around for us all to have nicked ones...he he...if there are can u imagine all of those quite tasty cars with bent coat hangers taped to their roofs....we can sell them our old VW ones!

mine screws out to a certain point and then stops and just spins! did find out that it can fold down for that ultimate swept back look lol
must just be the ibizas that r fickle and awkward!! u'd think they'd have the same aerial and base as the 9n........but no!!

He wants to see a pic of it on my GTi, so he can put it on E-Bay (the pic, not my car)

I put in the feedback, it looks good on the Polo, so he asked to see it.

I think I'll make sure the numberplate isn't visible though, or I might wake up and find out it no longer has an aerial

Yeah

He seems ok though (I hope)

Still so long as he doesn't nick my one, I don't care where he got it from.

If they can afford a £26k car they can afford a £27 aerial

I would be absolutely gutted if someone stole my aerial, especially as I paid £20 for it!

Hard to tell where the guy gets them from, maybe he shipped over a lot of them in bulk knowing he could make a profit in the long run. Either way, he's doing OK out of the arrangement and our Polos all look the better for it 8)
