ABS light

Post by char »

twice now, just after my petrol light has come on, my ABS light has come on too, but then goes away after the engine is restarted. and between the ABS light coming on for the 1st and coming on for the 2nd time its been about a month, so im pretty sure its happening when petrol light comes on, anyone else noticed this?

mine came on whenever any1 comes and sits down in the seat behind me (driver)... found out the abs sensor wire passes thru under the seat..and it was catching...hence it came on all the time...gave it a bit of lee-way and its fine now

mine did this occasionally on me mk5, and i had both rear speed sensors changed at seperate times eventually!
could just be dirt (?) on the sensor which temporarily gets stuck therefore blocking the signal??

grrr, this is really starting to annoy me now, the light only comes on once every few weeks, but it'll cost me £45 just to take it to vw them plug in a computer and give me the diagnostics! surely if there was a fault with the ABS the light would be on permanently and not just at random intervals weeks apart?? :?

no, they said £45 for the diagnostic reading, i just assumed for £45 it would take at least somewhere near an hour, 2-3 mins is sickening

my boyf phoned them to ask how much it would cost, he knows the people at the garage coz the garage he works at deals with them a lot, and thought less chance of getting ripped off if he phoned them

where did you go?
