Those damn bugs...

Post by cyhliu »

Just washed my baby and all I can say what is the point of flys/wasps(bees are excluded because they make honey)/mosquitos/various other flying bugs other than to cover the entire front of your car in some sticky, difficult to wash off goo?

Sorry, just something I need to get off my chest...feels a lot better now...

Oh, whilst washing/spraying the rear, just under the spoiler, water appeared to drip on inside of the car...has anyone else noticed this? I think it may be that I am spraying under the spoiler which rain normally does not...

Damn...you have my sympathies...

I'm sure if you look close enough there are species of flying bugs that probably haven't been discovered...yep there's one, top photo, third bug from the left, next to the one with five legs!

If you have water getting in to the car from the hatch, check the foam gaskets on the rear light clusters. I had this problem, one was leaking, boot smelled damp, and when I checked I had a little pond in the spare wheel well!!

Cheers LAN, I'll check the spare wheel well but the water runs down the inside of the rear window, looks like it originates from the spoiler or the top of the window...can't say that I've noticed this in the rain but who stands there when it is absolutely chucking it down staring into the back window?

cyhliu/Polo2k,

Do you know that Turtle Wax have released a product called 'Bug&Tar remover wipes'!

Seriously I think that it's supposed to be quite good, don't actually know anyone that has bought it though.

I'll be stocking up for Inter's next year! Actually I might buy a load of them and sell them... car boot sale style - gap in the market at inters   !!
