If they open the door and grab you, they've got the element of suprise.
If they find it's locked and you drop the window and elbow them in the face, you have.

Oh, and not all cars have door pins. Most of the Ford range doesn't for a start. On my escort you push the door handle in to lock, which works well as you hardly have to move your hand to lock the car down.

i carry a nice metal pole in my side door with a pair of leather gloves for extra grip hehe, i also have my steering lock under the seat, thats quit effective.
about a month ago i was pulled over waiting to pick my mrs up from work...5pm , dark, 3 gurls walk past the car next thing a bloke pins one of the gurls up against a wall and tries to take her hand bag..grabbed the steering lock, told him to f**k off.....and he did !

as for locking the doors, i never thought about that really, i like the idea of them being unlocked in the event of an emergency so i can get out asap.

like the idea of the pepper spray though :) hehehe

Better hope you don't get seen with that though mate, if it's anything like the stuff the Police use, it carries a 5 year sentence

I drive with my doors locked, that's all I have. Unless I hit them with the service book, or spray them with my de-icer
correct - cs gas is classed as a firearm

baseball bat when its on its own is classed as a weapon. if there is a ball and/or mitt in the car as well then its perfectly legal.

I don't normally have mine locked for that very reason. Just when I'm at low speed in a dodgy place.
