It's been a bad day...!

Post by mysteryboy »

Alright guys...

Been a while since I posted a problem...

Basically today I went to the bodyshop with my mate bcos he was getting his car sprayed and we parked up and as he went to open the window it wouldnt open (only the passenger side window that wouldn't open) so I thought fair enough, guess the window needs fixing.
On the way back home my sub stoped working... (I thought maybe one of the wires gonne loose bcos I have a football in the back rolling about.)
Then... I park up outside his house... do a little investigating but couldn't find any obvious fault plus it was dark so I thought I'd check tomorrow.
I went to start my car and guess what... The b!tch wouldn't start.
So.... We jump started the green idiot... and guess what... the sub started working, the window worked... wtf.. how weird???
Guess its the battery... does this mean I should replace the battery as I dont really want it happening again...?

Cheers amigos!!

sounds like your battery but theres normally a reason why it's gone dead, leaving lights on etc, or possibly alternator probs, sometimes it's just random so just wait and see if it goes again, just make sure you got some jump leads in your boot

Nah no warning light nothing... Just parts kept dieing one after another untill the whole car died. Jumpe started it & seems fine now.

You know when you press your window button does you interior light sort of flicker?? Could be something as simple as a fuse but im sure you've checked all this...

Well... if giving it a whack doesn't work, nothing will...

I'll leave it to someone else to advise on removing the door cards as I don't like to fiddle with these things...

It is pretty weird tho... The flickering means theres power but why isn't it going to the door :? hmmm

Well... today the b!tch wouldn't start again... guess where i was.... busy ass tesco petrol station.... not good i tell ya....
Called my dad to bring some jump leads and his car and just when we poped the bonnet open it started, then failed to start again at my mates house... So anyways I went to halfords and bought a new battery... so it seems fine for now...
My mate tell me it could be an alrenator aswell as he had similar problem on his car...

(Just thought I'd type that shizzle down incase someone else is having similar problems)

ps. batteries are bloody expensive these days.... Luckily reduced from 59.99 to 47.99... I remember seeing them for £25 odd... damn inflation..lol

I reckon getting your alternator tested be your next step, could be it's not working properly, meaning you are draining the battery whilst you are driving. Had this on mine, didn't notice the alternator drive belt was missing and not charging the battery, jump starting it would get it going, drive off down the road and it would die again.
