DAB

Post by rew102 »

Just wondering if anyone has had a Blaupunkt Woodstock or any other DAB head unit put into their 9n or 9n3 Polo? Do you need an additional aerial or an aerial upgrade for it to work?
I have asked the dealer if they could put a DAB in my new car as I saw on the Polo accessories website that they now offer a Woodstock DAB but was told that you can not replace the CD unit in the new Polo with anything else!! I can't believe this is true as I had an MP3 CD Blaupunkt head unit and dash multi-changer fitted to my current Polo (9n FSI SE) and the interior of the 9n3 look the same as my old car. VWUK also seem a bit puzzled.

Although I'm happy with my current Blaupunkt head unit a DAB would be sweet as. Also could someone clarify if the CD player in the 9n3 (1.4 TDI SE) can it play MP3 CDs? The dealer is also unsure if it is possible as I may need to use the standard one until I can get something else fitted.

Some good news for iPod owners apparently VW are releasing a cable link for in a couple of weeks (not before time) for the standard CD player.

Sorry for all the questions but VW don't seem to not know the answers.
