Cookie Problems

Post FORUM SPECIFIC questions here: Such as, "HELP, I can't keep logged in for more than one session" etc... Not general help questions such as "my car won't start". You get the idea?

Cookie Problems

Post by bertJ »

:!: I've suddenly started having cookie problems. I have to log on every time I access this forum. I know this has been discussed before but I can access other forums with no problem. Your cookie [email protected][2].txt is present in my cookie list. IE6 is set to accept cookies with low security setting for your site, etc.
I short, I've checked everything! Any ideas please?

I don't know why you and others are having this problem.

I set my IE security to Medium and did nothing else (and I've been viewing this site every day for almost a year without having to re-log back in.

If anyone has any ideas, please share them!

:) I think I've cracked it!
In IE6 go to Tools/Internet Options/Privacy
Set the slider on Medium.
Click on Edit.
Type uk-polos.net in box 'Address of web site'
Click on Allow
Click on OK
This setting allows the cookie for this site but keeps the privacy setting at a reasonable level.
Make sure when logging in after this procedure that the tick box to remember this log on is ticked.

:!: You also need to add tigerstyle.co.uk to the list of allowed cookies. See my previous post.
This forum is turning into a computer forum - sorry!
