Constant Flat Tyre??

Post by beautyfiend »

Hey guys,
I got back off holiday last Thursday and drove my car for the first time in two weeks. Not a long journey just got some petrol and went to the supermarket then back home (probably all in all a 10 mile trip). Didn't go out to the car until monday morning when I found I had a flat tyre...Thought it must be a puncture and tread is getting a bit low so I might as well just get a new tyre fitted. New tyre fitted on Tuesday by etyres wake up Wednesday to find it's flat. Call the guy back, he re-fits it. Tyre slowly goes down until totally flat Friday morning.
What the hell is going on? I'm having to pump it up every morning to drive it.
Anyone got any ideas?

Either they didn't change the valve (and that's where the air is leaking from)

or

Your wheel has a leak!

It's not common but I've heard of it happening.

Best thing to do is reinflate it, then spray water on the valve area and wheel and look for bubbles.

I completely quote what have you said. It happened to me one year ago, when i bought my baby :) It was a very annoying thing when you where late at some datings and you had to pump the wheels if you wanted to arrive safely at the date!! it was the valve....

Moral of this is - Don't get a mobile fitter to do tyres. They can't carry enough tools/equipment to do the job properly!
