Adding sub to gamma

Post by Scorpio1 »

Ok, I know I need a special lead to make the Gamma have RCA's, but I'm confused.

I was told today by a shop that I would lose my rear speakers if I add this lead. Is this true?

Has anyone got a pic or part number that they're using?

Lies... All lies

You need an adapter made my Auto Leads.

It gives you 2x Stereo RCA (front and rear) and also a remote wire.

Sorted.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem Scorpio
I think im going to keep the original Gamma head unit as Josh has done the same and he seems to content with it. However a quality after-market head unit will always be better sound-wise but wont look snug in the dash. Some specialist shops stock a Kenwood head unit that looks exactly like the VW Gamma but a lot more powerfull. Try the Sony shop Lakeside. Im half way through my ICE project with my mate (thanks Icemann69 for your help) and it seems to be shaping up well. I'm going to re-fit the front door speaker thet blew and have it replaced under waranty by the crappy VW one. Then sell the lot off. I should be takin delivery of some Kenwood components and a matching 2ch amp. What I'm upset about is that all this cant be done in time for the meet :( but there wil always be another 1

Nice one! I'll have to get one.

I can't believe they said my rear speakers have a standard amp running them, and if I used this it would stop them working.. :?

I just want to keep the standard stuff for now, with a little extra bass, I’m really looking forward to running the wires...!

What are the best ways of running the cable through to the battery, any ideas?

That is the correct one.

You're lucky Halfords had it as when I asked in mine they got confused and mumbled something!

For anyone wanting to add pre-outs to their gamma the link is here.

Hi mate, when I click that link i'm just getting through to the index of the autoleads site.:(

I got a speaker level to RCA converter for wiring my ICE up to my sat-nav headunit, but that made me lose my rear speakers and only gives me one pre-out (two male RCA connecters, one white, one red). So something's gone wrong as what you're describing is exactly what I need.

Any more info much appreciated.

Looking in PVW this month there is an advert for OEMPARTS which lists a Blauplunt sub (from the Audi I presume) for the GAMMA radio?

There website doesn't seem to work though?

Anyone got any idea on this and how it works?

I know this post is one year old or so

But wanted to ask the same question... now when adding this lead, what connection does it go on? the yellow mini-iso?

Will I loose my blue mini-iso cd connection plug??

Cheers

also do halfords still do this cable, can it be bought online elsewhere?

pc3-11

Post by tntuk »

Just a question about the pc3-11 Lead. Will i lose anything fromt eh Gamma head unit by fitting these? I am looking to fit a sub in my boot but don't know how these leads will affect the head unit. Is there a ISO connection in the stereo for this or does it mean playing about with the wiring? Please help, looking to do this at the weekend!

Cheers
