how much am i looking at for a service, and should i take it to a vw dealership?

All depends if you want FVWSH, as for price I'm not too sure mate.

Try an independent VW specialist if you can

All main dealers overcharge, wouldn't bother with them personally.

oil service round about Â£50 main dealer, (norfolk) no idea bout other counties

quoted Â£150 for inspection service 30k, from indy vw!! which seems pricey just for oil and filter change (includes air filter) and for someone to have a quick look around,
have ago yourself if your up for it all parts no more than Â£30 from local motor factors

i was quoted nearly Â£300 at my local VW garage! and my car is only 44800 miles.. not even like the cambelt is done at this one!
think im gunna see how much a VW spec. will charge...
