I've read the bump strips are just stuck on the 6n but does the same apply to the badges on the back. I got a 1.9 diesel, if tha makes any difference, and I also want to take off the polo badge. I just want to make sure they are only stuck on before i take them off tmoz and find big holes. Thanks
the ones on teh back i have taken off the one that says 1.4L on ti and that has left no holes the glue just needs buffing out with some scratch remover. i dunno about the polo badge. i quite like that one it stops people calling it a golf
when i took mine off the back the litre thing and the polo all i did was heat it up and then fishing wire along the back, came straight off , oh and then i just got something to get rid of the excess and polished it clean
i took mine off, just use a hairdryer to heat them a bit then they just sort of peel off, use sum crappy "B&Q's own brand" turps/white spirit to get rid of excess glue or marks, then slap a bit of polish on. looks so much better de-badged!
Havent taken off the polo badge on my mk5 GTi yet, but took the badge off me old mk4, used wd-40 to soak it, then use a eating knife wraped in tape and prised it off.
Removed mess an t-cuted it to blend the paint back.
What ever you do take your time and dont rush. I made that mistake and ended up pulling a bit of the paint up aswell!, I was proper pissed off with myself and now have to get it re-sprayed!. Taught me a lesson (dont be such a spastic and dont rush).
