Single Slot Cd Player Error

Just wondering wether anyone else has had this fault on their vw single din cd player....

when loading a cd, the display on the headunit above shows chk magazine, and does not start playing the cd.

When the car went in for a service recently, vw said it was a fault ignition switch causing the problem, and that playing copied cds had also caused it

It was a fairly hefty price for them to change the switch,for which they could not guarantee would cure the fault

anyone else had this problem?

Never had that (although I have the gamma Radio/Casette with cd changer) All I do know is that they must be chatting out their ar5e to say copied CD's helped cause the problem.

They shouldn't be any different to norrmal CD's.

Exactly, however it was my mum they were saying it to

(its her mk5 with the problem btw)

So the typical, it's a woman lets shaft her over

All garages try that, a garage tried that with my mum and dad, then my grandad went in, in a pair of Audi Race overalls. They soon shut up then
