Hi there, I need to replace my tyres on 7.5j x 17 wheels. My current tyres are Toyo T1-S's and found them really grippy and exeptional in the wet but I'm wondering whether to go for the new T1-R's or the Yokohama Parada Spec 2's.
I've had conflicting comments about the Yoko's being a bit iffy in the wet but also heard that they're a better tyre than the Toyos. Can anyone give me any recommendations please?
Cheers.
Yokos or Toyos??

So you say the T1-Rs are not as good as the T1-Ss then? How come, they're more expensive and a new design so I would have thought they'd improve it.grantcolborn wrote:T1-Rs are a bit slippy in the wet from past experience on my type-r. T1-S are awesome
So is there nobody who's got Paradas then? Damn, thats the one I originally wanted too, looks like its going to be Toyos I suppose. Just whether i should caught up the extra cash for the T1-Rs or not.

cheers pal. i might just go back to what I know.....the T1-S's. i mean I cant fault them, I've done nearly 30,000 miles in them and the grip in wet and dry has been really good. Its just that now they need replacing the wet grip has gone down by quite a bit as it tends to understeer more when its wet.
Anyway, cheers guys for the advise. Much appreciated.

You're right but a lot of places I've looked at still stock them but a lot cheaper. Although its cheaper I dont mind paying that bit more for quality so I'm sort of in 2 minds. I'm tempted to try something different and I'm not getting good responses for Yokos so might just get the T1-Rs.ModifiedMadness wrote:I think I saw on here somewhere the T1-S are no longer made, the T1-R has taken over now.
Besides, when its wet I dont go crazy anyway but I'm not the Snake Pass (A57) every week so tyres and grip are very important to me. If any of you have been on the Snake Pass you'll know what I'm talking about. Its the road between Manchester and Sheffield.
Rubber for your pleasure... ?
I've had both Toyo's and Yoko's both were fantastically grippy - but the wear showed that. I'm now running AVON ZV1's - they're a little dearer, but have lasted 21k miles driving the same as normal. Was averaging about 14k with the others. AVON highly recommended.
