alright mate did u pm me before, on mine the radio didnt really work that well to begin with (something to do with a cable in the back of the head unit i think) but with the new aerial i can get some stations perfect and others are quite crap, its a slight improvement so if yours works fine now it'll probably be the same with the new one.

I have one on my GTi, and the radio reception isn't affected at all.

Good question!! Been meaning to get this done myself at some point but I dont see it as a "must do" so not really bothered with it... I too am interested in knowing if it'll mess the reception up...

Like I say, mine is fine so I would assume the MKIV wouldn't be a lot different.

dunno if ud consider this......... but i cut mine down to make it shorter. Looks absolutely perfect cos u take d top rubber bit off first with boilin water and re-slide it back on after cuttin the thin bit it to the desired length with a hacksaw and then superglue it back on. 5 minute job looks ace. Its free and the reception honestly never got any worse at all. Swear its as good as ever....

The only thing I've done under my bonnet is fit a GTi badge, other than that I know how to check the oil and water levels
