turbo update

the car had its first run on the rollers today.
176bhp and 180 odd llbs torque.but at the mo car ain runnin rite as i need a new ignition coil and a lambda sensor.the technician said one these are changed we should get some higher figures.

To be honest 176 is very low amount for the effort and money spent i bet!

Be nice to get it around the 200bhp mark then your in business!!

Thats about 140ish @ the wheels!! Mines 110bhp @ the wheels big diff!!

Have you got any turbo lag??

The torq figure is nicer too, stock GTi is 153nm, 50 bhp extra is pretty nice. be great to see pics and a movie of the car on the dyno if poss

Fr the amount of money the conversion cost me,im well happy with the first run on the rollers.Barin in mind theres alot more to come outa the kit as ive got a few faults which gotta be rectified.Once this has been done we'll see what the results are.hopefully i should get me motor back by then!
let you guys know by next week!

There is smone in this part of the woods that run the Gti engine at 216 HP at the cranck, with a turbo upgrade...

Wow looks really tidy. I’m surprised it fit under the Polo’s bonnet looks really good. The extra power must come in handy. Must surprise a lot of people on the road. :o :D

Did the engine need a lot of work in order to add the turbo because of the high compression?

how much did the kit cost and how many hours approx did it take to fit?

I assume those bolt on jobs are only for a 16v and won't last aslong as the normal engine would! (i remember my mates renault 5 turbo, he went through 4 turbos in 35,000 miles :shock: )
