Post by smash_it_up_666 »

should i put a GTI grille (without the gti badge) on my colour concept or leave it as the standard one?

If you put on the mesh grille, it'll look really smart :) but then you'll want to (eventually) upgrade the lower bumper's inserts to honeycomb to match! Am I right in thinking you don't have foglights at the moment, or do you in fact have the honeycomb inserts already?

Alternative to the mesh grille is the slatted debadged grille like so (from R&A Design):

But IMHO the mesh grille looks better - I'm not biased of course!

foglights and honey comb grille as standard on colour concepts :D

so u think i shuld get the grille to match then?

dont fancy a debadged grille yet, maybe when i can afford to get the cut out in the bonnet sorted ;)

the grille doesn't match the lower grilles, the gti grille is a honeycomb whereas the other cars with fogs have a crosshatch type honeycomb

im to skint to be too much of a perfectionist lol.
the plan is to get the coileys ASAP, march or april hopefully.
then buy a GTi front spoiler, grille, AUDI TT PEDALS, (your the a*se whos made me want those so much si ;)) and possibly the rear spoiler, im undecided on that though.

and o yeah, i tinted out my 3rd brake light today, its completely black, cant see it untill you brake, looks miles better

the brake light mounted above the windscree,

i think tehy look sh!t, so took it out, and put about 15 coats of tint spray on it, just standard halfrauds type stuff, wont wash off but itll come off with white spirit.

few tips for you.
try and get it as flat as you can, i put mine in a vice,
leave it about 5 minutes between coats,
i did 15 coats on mine and its completely black,
leave it about half anhour before puttin it back on the car, itll b dry in 5 but still soft.
dont try and do it whilst on the car.
if need to no how to get hte light out, give me a shout, took me a while to figure it out.
