Josh, my engine details as requested...

9n '03' Polo 1.2 AWY engine

I'm still wondering if it is possible whether to bother telling the insurance company, after all my Dad would end up repairing it anyway (hes VAG approved bodyshop for my area) :?

Tell the insurance about ALL your modifications.

If you were unfortunate enough to cause an accident, you (personally) would be knackered if you had'nt told your insurers.

I'll find out about the powerbox for you!

could you find out if its available for the 1.3cl (8v) engine, as in mine? this would just be a tempory solution until the engine swap next year, in which case would the powerbox be transferable to a G40 engine?

you would have to change the powerbox to a g40 specific one which will be a biot more expensive

sorry to bring up a well old topic...

but i have a few questions

josh what were your "teething problems" with the system?

will any auto electrician be able to fit it?

nelson..did u get one fitted? and if so like it? if you didnt did you go for another chip?

it sounds amazing and as many on here have said im very interested, but can i trust it to be as reliable and trustworthy as a simple superchip?

thanks for your patience!!

I dont think any of these powerbox (external) things are all they are made out to be. I cant see them giving you all the power increase and better fuel consumption they claim. As they are just spliced into the ecu wires, they are going to sent it different readings. You are far better off getting a proper 'chip' for your ecu, which is properly mapped for your car.
