Funny temperature

rite guys - i know very little about engines and whatnot

But i have a question - i know its well cold at the mo and there is a little bit af "dieselness" when you start the engine but is it normal for the temp gauge to shoot to the mmidway point after 2 mins driving ??

Am i just being paranoid or do i have a problem ??

is it the thermostat or temp sender ??

or do i maybe need to add some coolant ??

My cars is a 1.4 16v 6n2

Recently done an oil change if this helps !

any help is appreciated guys

well... it does sound a little quick. question is, does it stay there, or does it get super hot (and not come down), or go straight into the very hot-cooling fan-temperature drops-fan off-repeat cycle?

Yeah its about 5 mins or when i really rev fast in 2nd/3rd gear !!

Stays at about 90 tho doesnt come down or go up !!

Starting to freak me out a bit !!!

so it neither overheats or puts the fan on, you mean?

Im not sure if the fan comes on - i felt the radiator today and it is warming up but i dont think i have heard the fan for a while !!!

Defo not overheating also its only when i go into high revs that the temp gauge starts to rise and just stops at 90

Any help you can chuck my way is greatly appreciated
