Polo speaker help..

Post by JustinGTi »

Hello.. i registered a while back, but never really had any problems with it so far.. until now.. i am looking to put in a set of 6*9s into the rear shelf, but as standard there are no rear speakers so we will need to run wires down from the back to the head unit..

can anyone point me in the right direction to where we should solder the right and left speakers into? seems i have lost the owners manual.. oops..

thanks... and here is a quick pic of my car

on the iso plug for the back of the head unit there is two 8 pin plugs on of the plugs will be the power this has a red yellow etc going in a L shape
the other will have four pins loaded in the centre and the outers with no pins this is the speaker plug.
you can just wire up via these emty pin hole but the way I do it is cut the speaker plug off and wire in a new iso with rear speaker wires installed it save loads of time flafing. get some wire joiners from a motor factors (pref blue as there larger) and crimp the new one inplace add the extra speakers and job done lovly sounding system.
Hope This Helps

Haha for a minute there I thought you had a satellite dish on your car!

I just bought an ISO connector and u can cut the relevant wires and just attached the rear speakers to them, it should have details of which wires corresponds to which... but I cant remember if they info they had was the wrong way round.
But just follow each lead going in the ISO connector and you'll work out which is the rear speakers.

One problem I had when I connected my rear speakers... they're very quiet and easily get over powered by the stock speakers.
Anyone know if theres a problem here? :?
I was told to just connect the rear speakers to the front speaker wires and use the output for both sets.
Any suggestions?

if your only using two channles (front speaker wires) the secondary speakers you've fitted will be weaker as they dont have the nessary current to feed them you have to have different speakers on dierent channels other wise the first in the circut line will get more.
hope this helps.
