Oiling up your GTI?

Anyone recommend the best oil for running in your GTI? X Reg 2000 with approx 70k on the odo :?:

id use quantum synta silver - semi synth

Castrol Edge Sport 0W-40 (about £10 a litre) - ok in higher miles car and if it's good enough for porsche it's good enough for my baby.

the O.E oil in most VW's is actually not Quantum. Its Fuchs oil.

VW put in Castrol GTX magnetec when I get it serviced there, I use Quantum Silver. Both good oils, if you change the oil every 5k using those oils u can't go wrong.
