Bumper smoothing

Post by clees »

Over the wkend, i called at my local bodyshop garage to see how much they would charge to smooth my bumpers. I printed off an example so they knew what i was after, however this did not work as the guy who dealth with me looked very blank and confused. :?

The guy needed to know whether they had been filled in with plastic or some other way cause he mentioned that one way would eventually crack!!

Hope this is clear and that someone out there can explain to me how the smoothing process is done!!

Cheers guys :)

they are plastic welded, and the skimmed smooth. If the guy had no idea what you were asking then I'd fina another garage.

Even if you plastic weld them they can crack if its not done right. Mine have a combo of fibre glass and plastic weld...

Took them more then a week todo mine so it seems they did a good job.

Should be looking @ 250-300 for a good job, front and rear bumpers.

Sorry Phil, but do you mean 250-300 each or for both?

That sounds like a good deal. Especially as it looks like a quality job.
