basically problem is i stick my ignition on and my speedo needle goes mad! like for about 2-5 seconds starts movin itself back and forth
any ideas?

your battery might be dying as this is wat happened to mine when you disconect the battery it is most likely to hapen,hope it helps

thanks man, how long do batterys usually last? i think i had my current one for about a year and a half as i replaced it when i got the car...

Do you have warranty on your battery. Usually you get 3 odd years warranty.

i should have yeah lol i hope this is the problem because a new dash is like 120 according to my mate, i might have to replace it ..

Don't worry too much if the clocks do need replacing. You can get them secondhand really cheap.
I just bought a set to experiment with for £19 from a guy on UKPolos.

i had a transporter do the same thing with a woring noise as it does this, I had to replace the clocks to sort the problem.
