Mine squeak too a bit on use. The door pull is connected to a cable which hooks onto the door mechanism. To investigate the slackness, strip the door down by removing the door card and and sound deadening, then inspect the door pull and cable to see if it's broken or misshaped in some way :?

To remove the door trim:

1. Remove screw from doorcard - its nearest the door shut at the front of the door, can't miss it.
2. Prise the plastic insert in the door handle off (it sits just behind the door pull there) to reveal two more screws. They're quite deep-set so you might need a longer screwdriver to remove them.
3. Remove the door card.
4. Remove the sound deadening. IIRC I nearly lost a couple of the clips that hold the material in place so watch out

To replace the door trim follow those four steps in reverse!

I'm going to be changing my own door pulls in a couple of weeks time so will do a DIY guide with photos then :D

Cheers

Answer is in the question really - Sound deadening kills sound ie road noise.
