I used to have an Alpine 9847, but recently got the Alpine 9855R.
My problem is that whenever I go over a speed bump or any little bump in the road, the CD will skip/pause.
With audio CD's, it's terrible. With MP3 cd's, it doesn't happen as often as with an audio CD, but it's still bad.
I didn't have this problem with my first headunit...
The manual says that if this happens, the headunit may not be mounted correctly. I thought this may be the case as I haven't put any of the screws in, but I didn't put screws into my old headunit either.
What do you think?
Headunit skipping on bumps
sounds like the head unit is moving slightly put in rest of fixings first, then try again, if not you may but very unlikely have a faulty unit ( have have alpine units for nearly 15 years and not one single problem with any of them what so ever, first head unit i bought cost nearly £700 back then) bit cheaper now!!!!

its the rear rubber thing on the back, the head unit has a no-headed screw that half is in the head unit and half is not, the half that is not goes through the mount at the back, then you should put the nut supplied with it and then put the rubber washer type thing through it, then your problem will definatley stop... hope that helps
