removing locking wheel nuts

Post by Ant_6n »

right first off im not going to try and nick someones wheels :D , theres a modded polo at a scrappy near me and theres a nice set of bbs alloys on it but they have got locking wheel nuts on, and it doesnt have the key, was wondering if any one had any tips or tricks to get them off. if you want to pm me just in case anyone (thief etc.) else reads this or whatever.

Do you know which type of locking nut is fitted? If VW type, can get a key from VW dealer to match ?

I had this problem when I was changing my alloys over. Luckily I bought a set of ebay which were identical to the ones I needed & poped 3 of them off. Was left with one where I tried the chizzle trick. I took it to a mechanic who welded it off. Now... You could buy locking nut removal kit which will set you back about £20 if I remember correctly & flog it afterwards. :)

I think it was on a lesser polo forum where they said you file down the sides and then use an ajustable spanner to remove it.

Dont count on this but check club polo
