Full Polo Paint Job

Does anyone know how much it costs to get a full paint job done on the polo (in the uk), thanks

would that price be for taking everything out of the car and spraying it or just spraying it with most stuff still stuck on the car?

respray costs depend entirely on the garage doing the work, the condition of your car and what other work you are having done (smoothing etc) if a car has very little or no prep work to be done then the cost should in theory be alot cheaper than a car that needs alot of work doing to it prior to painting, i.e treating rust etc. there are some places that will be cheaper if you do the prep work yourself, however the bodyshop i use wont touch cars if they have been prepared by people other than themselves.

in terms of cost, id say for a full bare metal respray you would be looking anywhere between Â£1000-Â£1500 maybe, depending on where you had it done and what you had done etc.

THe bloke who did my front bumper (he IS good) said to me he would do a full respray if you help him prep the car (sand it) for about Â£400

a boy up here did a mk4 golf, the whole thing, took the bumpers off smoothed them and the side skirts everything off and sprayed for an estimated (by him) price of Â£1500-Â£2000. and its a f*ckin top quality job too!

Iâ€™d be worried about the longevity, I mean Iâ€™ve seen cracking paint jobs that end up well er cracking

I agree. I work for a specialist coating company and a full aftermarket respray on the cheap will only be good for a few seasons. Its normally cracking within a few years. OEM,s use cellulose paints normally and garages and spray shops go for cheap 2K paints

It seems to be more the plastic's that go first from what I have seen, maybe the flex more and the paint gets britle them bam cracky cracky

I'd like a flash spray done to mine, but I'd need to find somewhere that would offer longevity. Maybe as a warranty or something.

If hes so good get him to do your back bumper also!

did you say you spray caned the back yourself?
