hey guys, i think its my immobiliser beeping that has stopped beeping

i have fitted a different headunit and my friends said that only sonys make the beeping, it usually beeps 3 times once i have pulled my keys out but since fitting a alpine headunit it doesnt do it anymore... is this bad?

Not that I'm aware off, I've never had a H/U that's done it.

Wouldn't have thought so, the immobiliser isn't controlled by the H/U.

Think of it this way, the standard H/U doesn't beep when you take the key out of the ignition, so you've got nothing to worry about.

Nothin to do with the imobiliser dude. Sony HU,s all make this noise when u remove the key , to remind u the face is still attached! You can turn it on and off on my HU.

That's what I like about my Pioneer, once the ignition is turned off the face slides down for you to take it out 8)

Yeah I have the same headunit as ModifiedMadness and its so nice to have it do all the work for you!

My old Pioneer didn't even switch off when you turned off the ignition but this new DEH-P80MP switches off, slides down and begs to be taken away before the mechanism slides back up and packs itself away. Its a thing of f-cking beauty!

Amen to that, and once it's in the Polo it will compliment the dials and Climatronic a treat.
