But yes, a Polo GT cam will fit ANY mk4 engine (as long as it's a non-diesel engine
Also make sure it's an cam from a GT with enginecode 3F, otherwise it won't fit (3F engine are the "new" types of GT engine, the "old" ones where different and WON'T FIT!)
I myself paid about 70 / 80 euro for the cam, incl. shipment to Holland and the fee for an international transaction (for my bank), a m8 of mine also bought one and only paid 50 euro all in
Another point of attention is that I fitted the cam in my ADX engine (1300 single point injection) this engine originally has/had a cam with 188 degrees ("weakest" Polo cam ever made) and the 3F GT cam has 219 degrees of valveopening ("hottest" Polo cam ever build), so the difference in my ADX engine is (in %) much greater then in for instance a AEX engine (1400 multi point injection, which has 198 degrees as far as I can remember, the AEA (1600 spi) and AEE (1600 mpi) engines both have a cam with 204 degrees, zo in the 1600 engines the 3F cam will have effect, but not as much as in my ADX engine or even in a AEX engine)
So if you're driving an AEA or AEE engine, don't expect the world to happen, driving a AEX, you will probably notice some improvement, but never as much as in a ADX engine
If you've got any further questions what so ever, you can always PM me, I'll try to answer as clear and fast as possible, I never mind hleping out
how do you time the distribution belt and ignition?
ive got an aex engine so shouldnt be too bad
i was also told by a lad about loosening off the cable jus below the standard airbox (i think its the throttle cable) so its finger tight will improve the acceleration loads, just what i heard.
cheers Ant

If you've never timed an ignition belt before, don't try this yourself, I would REALLY recommand letting a pro do this and just watch along. Not only because there's a big change of something "going wrong" but also because you are likely not to have al the proper tools at your disposal (for instance you have to take of the entire engine support on the passenger side (for British the driver side) to get your distribution belt off.Ant_6n wrote:how do you time the distribution belt and ignition?

And timing the ignition is even harder without the proper tools, this is done by hooking your cars computer to a special computer and a special lamp etc. I don't know the exact procedure, but belief me, you won't be able to do this at home with your ordinairy tool-box
