Engine Wont Start When Warm...PLEASE help

Post by officially_on_road »

Hi.

I have a Polo (6n2). The car seems to have a problem to start most of the times, not when ive just got into the car, but for example, i turn of the engine to go fill up the tank (petrol), and when i return, it has problems starting. Or another example, i stall the car while parking, and i again have problems turning the engine on again. It takes about 5mins to get the engine running again.

Has any come across this problem before?
Any advice, assist?
Thanks.

sounds very similar to a problem i had with my gt but that would cut out and then wouldn't start. turned out to be a faulty temp gauge was cutting the engine when it got "too hot"

I've got the same problem and going to get it looked at tomorrow and finally bite the bullet...god I hope it dosnt cost a bomb

I was advised to clean the carb, did work but the problems back. I have a faulty temp gauge so that could be the case. Does you car attempt to turn over but not fire? Mine does this and only fires (slight backfire, smoke etc) after a while. It then idals at high revs (about 3000) and then after a while drops. Any way let me know if this is the same and I ask the question tomorrow.

Does anyone have any ideas, and how much to solve the mystery problem? Please someone help..........
