Need help, exhuast emmisions warning light!

Post by NickP »

After a fairly long run on the motorway the other day i got in my car the following morning and the exhaust emmisions warning lamp was flashing. I looked in the manual and it said something about misfires. The car sounded fine, I knew it needed looking at but I didn't think too much of it. The following morning when i got in car the lamp first started flashing then it stayed on solid. It said in the manual that it was something to do with the lamode probe and i should take the car to the dealer straight away which i did as i've still got a week or two or warranty left.

I picked it up yesterday and like the useless bast***s that they are they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I left it with them the rest of the day and they still didn't find anything wrong with it. They told me that they had run a test on it (using one of those com port computers i think) and it didn't come up with any errors. Anyway the lamp doesn't come up anymore but i'm a bit concerned as i don't want it to break down as soon as the warranty has run out.

Has anyone else had anthing similar happen to their polo?? Mine is mkV 6n2, 51 plate. Its got about 28,000 miles on the clock?

Any help would be greately appreciated

this happened to me - ended up having to pay out about £400 until they eventually found out what was wrong with it.
