Lambda Probe

Post by Del_GTi »

Anyone ever changed one of these on a Polo 1.4i 8v MY2001?

Is it easy to do? Is it just one electrical plug?

Any advise grateful

Cheers

I've not changed it, but was going to at one stage (thought it was the course of an error light)

Its after the CAT on the exhaust pipe under the car, screws in place on side of pipe and wire runs along underside of car into engine bay and into a plug for it on the main loom

I could not replace mine, as I could not get the car safely high enough off the ground...

No problem

Easy enough to replace once the car is in the air hehe :)

I got a new VW part off ebay for cheap :D

Yeah, got axle stands. Do you think that will be high enough of the ground using them?

Hopefully, I tried with 2x 2 tonne trolley jacks and stands on the axels in case it dropped, found it was just slightly not high enough

I could not get a spanner in to undo the probe, as it was tight with rust I guess and the angle the car was at did not allow a bigger tool

I was scared the car was going to crush me lol, so gave up

Maybe if bigger trolley jacks were used?
