15"inch would be best imo...(tyres 195/45/15)

Shouldn't go for anything more than 16s....

i have 17s on 205/40/17 falken ze512s,,the rubbing isnt bad at all,,,theres a tiny amount amount on full lock.Ive had them for about 18month mate and used to love them but now think the car looks too tall with them and just not right somehow (lowered 50mm) so im opting for 16s and coilovers soon,,,hopefully a nice comprimise.

15's will make you go stupidly low, if you want nice sized alloys lus a reasonable drop then go for 16's :)
17's will kill the speed in a 1.0 mate

13's look V nice but dont fill the arches properly as you cant lower it fully
14's suit mk4's the best but are very impractical.
15's are ok for the majority of ppl at a sensible height
16's are nice wen lowered as they hide the tyres
17's a big NO NO

16s will cost u a bomb in tyres

15s look nice and if u buy the right style they look a bit bigger anyway!

liking the sig pic :D
15's and you can't go wrong
though 16's swallow the tyre up nicely and makes it look lower

That's what I was hoping to do with my next set of wheels. Get some 16x8 and 16x9s but if tyres are going to royally do me over I dunno now

I was quite lucky in getting four 195/40/16s for £320 fitted.

16s do look good, but 15s are probably the best compromise all round.
