alloys refurbish

Post by aleung2 »

Dear all.

Has anybody had their alloys refurbished or know how much it usually costs and what the process for it is please.

I have a set of OZs on my 9n and I've accepted that 3 of them are now buggered so I'd like to get them refurbed, possibly respreyed in a different colour maybe.

Anything on alloy reburb would help. Cheers people.

Ashley.

I am based in Manchester but currently stuying in Sheffield.

Just want to know what it involves and prices. £25 per rim sounds quite good because I've heard people say double that per rim.

Sorry, I forgot to add, if anyone can recommend a place in either Manchester or Sheffield that would be great. Also the guy who told me about this place in Sheffield who charge £50 per rim also needs it for 7 days. Is this normal?

hmm, thats a bit too far to be honest but would be great if you could let me know his prices and what it entails and whether it really takes 7 days to do. Cheers.

He could probably turn them around in 2 days to be honest if its just kerbing.

I'd say his prices would be no more than £40 per wheel but can't guarentee that unless he saw a pic or the wheels in person. Do you have any pics and i'll get you a price?

No pics I'm affraid but its just mainly kerbing and scuffing. A couple of them are nearly all the way around to be honest as I've not just hit them once.

Thats the bloody trouble with having 7.5j with 205 tyres....the tyres dont do any protection whatsoever. Oh well, thanks for the feedback anyhow.

I do however have pics of my car but dont know how to put them on unfortunately. I think you guys will approve if I could figure out how to do it.[/img]

I'm in the same boat, and I'm also in Manchester. So shout if you sort anything!

I've heard good things about the Wheel Clinic in Sheffield - that's where Josh got his Porsche Design-90s for his Fabia sorted.

This Nottingham guy sounds interesting. Dino - do you know if that price would extend to refurbing of the GTi's BBS split rims? I can supply pics of them if that would help - basically the laquer's knackered almost all the way round all 4

Steve

P.S. Like the pics - the Lowry looks stunning at night, the Polo's not bad either
