NEW 17" ALLOYS

Post by pirague »

Hi peeps, my very first post as a new member!
I'm getting a 1.4 Y-reg polo on Thursday and i never checked to see how many wheel studs it has! I have 17" mvk 4-stud alloys from my last car and hoped to put them on the Polo but i've been told my model is 5-stud?!!

HELP!!!!!!

Quality, are you positive? All y-reg Polo's are 4 stud?! Ace, cause my loy's are chrome painted and the car is a silvery-chrome colour, yee-ha!

Cheers mate!

I have to say, my last car was a pug 206....whoops! Broke down 5 times since January!!!

if its the mk5 not the mk6, (which i think it probably is) then i think those wheels should fit. the mk6 has round headlamps? mk5 has more squarekinda ones.

Then as Weedle says, it will be 4x100.

I'd stick to 15's or 16's though personally 8)

Well, its either stick them on or sell them!!! They cost me heaps and i will lose heaps on them. Plus they are chrome painted and will look ace with the car colour!!!

Besides the wheels, what other mods can you guys suggest for my 1.4 beast!!!!!!

if your no lowering it and the wheel arches have been rolled then 17"s will be fine but if you are thinking of lowering it then i would sell them and get a new set !!

- as for ideas for styling try:-

Gti centre grille
Fog-lights GTi style
debadging the rear

just a few to start with

It's quite a sporty car, picked it up last night and went for a rasp!!! I will look into your moding suggestions and try to get some prices!!

(quite exciting having a sunroof now aswell!!!)

I will try to post some pics asap and see what you guys think....

Cheers again,

try using a heat gun to heat the badges up slowly not to much !!

then use some fishing wire or such like to seperate it from the paintwork

next use a tar remover to get rid of the remining sticky stuff !!

then polish/wax the area you removed the badges from to bring the paintwork up !!

all things go well you shouldnt scratch the paintwork !!

good luck !!

*edit* try the vagparts forum area to get prices for any parts - thats were i got my grille from about £28.80 they also do the foglights etc !!
