Your advice on alloys please
I want to buy a set of alloys for my wifes 1.0L polo. It has a set of 4 spoke badly tarnished 13 inch rims, but i want to get new larger rims. i would like 15 inch, but don't want to lose too much ride quality, as we are expecting a child in August, and it will primarily be in the polo.
I have seen a couple of sets which i like, but not sure if they are available for the 1997 polo. Links are below:

and

I would be grateful if anyone knows where i can get these to fit the 97 polo, or of similar alloys.

first of all, welcome to the forum
yeah same here mate, only the first link works mate!
those alloys on the yellow polo are genuine vw alloys i do believe!
u can either ask vw for aquote to see how much they would cost new or
www.ebay.co.uk
always loadsa vw alloys floating about on there!
as for fitment the mk4 and mk5 polos both have 4x100 PCD and the offset i think is the same!
put it this way, i've seen mk4 wheels on a mk5 so theres no reason to suggest that it wouldn't work the other way aswell!
hope this helps mate!

All,
Cheers for the help. That's interesting about the MK4 and MK5 polos taking the same wheels, i had never known that. I will check it out.
What year did the MK5 run to??
Would you have any pictures of them. I know a guy who works at refurbing alloys, and i would like to see what it would cost to sort first.
I take it they are 15inch and would fit the 97 polo.
Thanks for the help

Loud, I'm looking to get wheels and tyres, but if the wheels are keen enough i might consider it.loud wrote:the first ones are are stock, they came on my 16v.
I'm away to buy a new set of wheels cos the **** that had the car before me curbed them to hell, so if u want a set to refurb give me a shout

yea i'll get pictures up once when i get the chance, i'm pretty sure the 6n2 has the same offset as the 6n so they should fit perfect and would come with good condition tyres.
they are fairly curbed like so it might not be economical, but we'll see.
i've never seen a 51 plate mk5, newest i've seen is X reg
