I was at Oulton Park today for the opeing rounds of the British F3/GT Festival, and one of the support races is the VW Racing Cup (hence why I went)
One of the cars in the field this year is the car you can see in the pic above, its a genuine 9n3 Polo GTi, modified for the Cup naturally - the engine is allowed to be fettled slightly, the brakes and wheels can be changed too. It was sporting drilled and grooved brakes, on the front at least, and lightweight racing alloys - it also wears a bodykit that, if you believe the rumours, is the new votex bodykit for the 9n3 Polo!
Looks great IMO
