Modding Costs

Post by Mouse_GTI »

If I finally find a good GTI I've got some plans. Just wondering how much it will all cost?

- Strutbrace
- Black Badges
- Lowered 40mm (possibly 60mm)
- Air Filter
- Window Tints
- Performance Exhaust
- "POLO" badge on back removed and "GTI" moved to the left
- VW number plates (possibly German font too)
plus

if Black:
- Red GTI badges
- Red front grill trim

if Red:
- Black powder coated wheels

- Strutbrace £45?
- Black Badges £30 (VAGparts)
- Lowered 40mm (possibly 60mm)
- 40/50mm: Eibach Sportline springs £130
- 60mm or lower: Coilovers £400

- Air Filter
- Window Tints
- Performance Exhaust £250 stainless steel cat-back
- "POLO" badge on back removed and "GTI" moved to the left £FREE!
- VW number plates (possibly German font too) ~£30 (cheaper if you buy them at a VW show!
All prices are approximate :)

I've spotted the OMP strutbraces on eBay for the GTi (like the one that Redline has fitted), think the guys username is "strutbracer" on eBay, worth looking him up!

Not sure on the costs of the air filter (depends what you want) or the tints...

Cheers

BMC induction kit seems to the favoured choice then 8) should be able to get one for about £160-£170? It has a carbon heat shield so that it doesn't suck in hot air from the engine bay :)

So you can use it all year round and not have the trouble of removing the induction in the summer? What kind of gains are we talking about? 8)
