You lot will probably hate it but i dont care!

1999 Audi A3 1.8T V5 180bhp

39,000 miles
Black 3dr
Climate control
Sline breaks
Sline suspension
Full Audi Service history
12 CD changer

I love it persoanlly, but not sure what you will make of it. Plans for next week are 18" RS8 wheels, tints and leather.

Lovely car mate. Logical step up. The wheels aren't to my taste but each to their own - I would go with the rs6 wheels. Enjoy the turbo. 6 months ago I bought a 250bhp, 370nm turbocharged saab and the urge from the turbo is a great feeling. Good luck and enjoy :D

Nice looking car Phil, bet it goes alright. Will you be investing in some REVO serial port programming :?:

Not trying to be funny mate but are you sure it's 180bhp.

It's just i don't recall Audi doing the FWD version with that power in '99 unless it's a Quattro.

It's also not a V5 if it's a 1.8T.

Lovely looking car though. 8)

P.s didn't you sell the Polo to help your folks out or something cos you did all that work to it then sold it right away? Didn't think you were getting something else.

I did yeh, but instead of lending them the car money, i just decided to give them a grand of it to help them out, they aint paying me back :)

Well the insurance company said it was a 180bhp one, so i just assumed. Its getting remapped next week anyways so makes no difference.

Should see 210-225bhp easy.

Cool mate.

You should check that out though, it could save you money on your insurance as it's likely to be the 150bhp version.

You'll see about 190bhp or so from a remap though, not 210-225bhp. As they pre 2000 models had a different ECU which doesn't respond quite as well as the later models.

A remap will set you off lovely. The 1800 is a 4 cylinder but I'm pretty sure VW put the 1.8T in the golf anni at 180 bhp, so yours could well be 180bhp. In the end it's not the numbers it's how if feels :D

Sorry that's wrong too. The S3 is a 1.8T.

Older ones had 210bhp newer ones had 225bhp.

V5's are 2.3.

Got me thinking about 180bhp ... sometimes I can't relax until I find the answer. Looks like you're laughing mate. :D There was a 180bhp in 1999 only with 0-60 in 7.3 - believe me though it's the torque you will enjoy. Having gone from the polo you'll love the mid-range pull of a turbo.

Just remember the rules about looking after turbo; let the car warm fully before you open it up, and after you've gone for a rag let the engine idle for a minute or so before you switch it off as turbo's get hot and the best way to cool is to allow the engine cooling system do the business for you. Look after your turbo and you'll be sorted.
