I have a BMC, makes a great sound.

Only thing to consider is the cost (£160-170) which is relatively high compared to say a K&N panel filter.

iv been told you will get more power out of a k&n panel filter!

not sure how true this is,but mine should be hear today
so will let you know!

cheaper to £35! and a bmc £160! not worth the money imo

BMC has a heat shield right? But won't it still suck in warm air on a hot summer day? Take it you can't have a panel filter and an induction

No mate, you can't have both cos you need to remove te airbox to fit an induction kit.

Anyways, i have a K+N panel filter on my GTI and i haven't noticed much of a difference. I am ordring a BMC a.s.a.p!

Anyone know the best place to get one!

I've gone from standard to K&N to BMC. The K&N pannel made a tiny bit of difference but this could of just been down to it being a new "clean" filter. The BMC on the other hand is awesome, The Gti seems to rev easier and is more reponsive, Im altho Ive not rolling roaded it im sure theres afew extra bhp there.

Hope that helps with your choice

BMC is an awesome kit, increases throttle responce, sharper, revs more freely and pulls from lower down the rev range

Does the K&N panel filter make any difference to the sound of the engine?
