project genesis - started--- part shortage

Post by Rob J B »

hi all started project genesis this week,

first of all I sanded all my rocker cover down as it was a rusted mess to be fair and resprayed in an alluminium look paint, luks ten times better sprayed my cam cover and frying pan style filter top as well the bay now luks tidy, I also steamed my engine bay off.

I also taken out the restrictive air feed of the pan and replaced with a wide air hose running to the bumper, this will provide better air flow, hopefully,

This weekend I am replacing the standard filter with a kn version and installing 40mm lowering springs. And fitting my bbs wheels if I can afford my new yoko tyres my have to wait till pay day.

ps I now the engine bay wont be to everyones taste but its certainly tidier and more up2 to date thanks

hey all

cheers for all comments, I will defo try get some pics on this week, hopefully, my springs , an filter turn up so I can fit them. Fitting my wheels looks bleak for this weekend (lack of funds for new tyres do!) , Priced the jetex system it was about 210 for the whole system form the cat (I think), I may be able to get a little bit of trade discount hopfully, any ideas for some new mirros I looked at the dtm style , but I dont realy want to do any painting yet there was a carbon version but can a polo coupe pull this off or do you all think it would ruin the look , I am not that keen to be honest
