Mounting Plate Holders

Post by mk5_sdi »

My german plates just arrived, just wondering how to fix the holders to my car, is velcro a possibility, dont really want to drill a hole in my bumber, and it allows for a quick change if the cops stop me, use the old show excuse :D , im hoping ill get away with them here in northern ireland cause we only have 3 gatsos in the whole country!!!! 8) and this seems the main reason for outlawing them.

Yes, but with velcro dont forget there's more of a risk of it falling off.

The pads aren't really too bad with some tar remover.

You'll only get stopped so many times I should think before they properly do you for them.

Its just i thought it would be more likely to get away without a fine if i could change em then and there, was going to get a set of legal plates to keep in the boot. Pads would be kinda alkward to change roadside.

Can you not take the plates out of the holder?

As if you can, would it not be easier to fix the holder on firmly and just swap the plates into and out of it?
